Can we understand the Tarot cards in terms of Carl Jung’s theory of archetypes? Jung argued that there are certain universal types of personality which exist in the collective unconscious experience of humanity. While Jung never directly discussed the Tarot cards in terms of his theory, many of the images in the Tarot appear to be examples of his theory of archetypes. In this course we will discuss some of the main archetypes that appear in the Tarot.
