This course is a general introduction to the history of philosophy. It examines the three great periods of philosophy – the classical period of Greece and Rome, the medieval period of Christian and Islamic theology, and the modern period of European philosophy.
Level: Beginner, intermediate, or advanced. Advanced students will be able to study representative philosophers from each period – Plato, Aquinas, and Hegel – in further detail.
